InterTest Electro-Mechanical Technician

Job Summary:

A leader in Remote Visual Inspection and Non-destructive Testing products is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician. A qualified candidate would possess 2 to 4 years of experience in the assembly of electromechanical devices. Skills pertaining to the position would include, but are not limited to, soldering of circuit boards and other intricate devices, assembly of intricate inspection tools as well as large and small electromechanical components and the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.Additional knowledge and skills in the areas of optical lens assemblies, fiber optics and basic machine tool operation would be beneficial to a qualified candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with soldering small circuit boards and high density connectors
  • Familiar with the mechanical assembly of small, intricate parts as well as large assemblies
  • Familiar with optical assemblies
  • Lens edging, fiber optic assembly, cutting and polishing
  • Familiar with mechanical assembly drawings and schematics
  • Familiar with electrical assembly drawings and schematics
  • Familiar with the use of machine tools such as milling machines and engine lathes
  • Work under stereo microscope
  • Able to perform machining processes using machine tools (lathe, mill) as well as optical edging and polishing.
  • Have fine motor skills
  • Perform basic trouble shooting of mechanical, optical and electrical systems
  • Interface and provide feed-back to engineering for continuing product improvement for both existing and future product designs
  • Self-starter
  • Positive altitude, work well with others
  • Ability to adapt and learn on the job


  • Must be a US Citizen as required by government contract
  • Must be able to attain a Security Clearance
